- How do you prove two triangles are congruent? To prove two triangles are congruent, show that three specific corresponding pairs of sides and angles are equal using an established congruence theorem: Side-Angle-Side…Read the topic
- How do you find the ratio of areas of similar triangles? The ratio of the areas of two similar triangles equals the square of the ratio of their corresponding sides. If the side length ratio, or scale factor, of triangle A to…Read the topic
- What is the relationship between central and inscribed angles? When a central angle and an inscribed angle intercept the same arc of a circle, the measure of the central angle is twice the measure of the inscribed angle. Conversely,…Read the topic
- Why are tangents from an outside point equal?Tangents drawn to a circle from the same outside point are equal in length because they form two congruent right triangles. When you connect that external point to the…Read the topic
- Why do opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral add up to 180 degrees? The opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral add up to 180 degrees because each opposite angle intercepts one of two arcs that together make a full 360-degree circle. By…Read the topic
- What is a sample space in probability?A sample space is the complete set of all possible outcomes of a random experiment, where each outcome appears exactly once. An event is any subset of that sample space,…Read the topic
- How do you find a probability when every outcome is equally likely? When every outcome in a sample space is equally likely, find the probability of an event by dividing the number of favorable outcomes by the total number of possible…Read the topic
- What is the addition rule in probability? The addition rule states that the probability of event A or event B occurring equals the sum of their individual probabilities minus the probability that both occur…Read the topic
- How do you use a tree diagram for a two stage experiment? To use a tree diagram for a two stage experiment, draw branches from a starting point for each outcome of the first stage, then draw new branches from each tip for the…Read the topic
- How do you calculate conditional probability? To calculate a conditional probability, divide the probability of both events happening together (the intersection) by the probability of the given condition: P(A|B) =…Read the topic
- When are two events independent? Two events are independent when the occurrence of one does not change the probability of the other. Mathematically, event A and event B are independent if and only if P(A…Read the topic
- How do you use the multiplication principle of counting? To use the multiplication principle of counting, break a process into separate stages and multiply the number of possibilities for each stage. If stage one has m options…Read the topic
- How to calculate expected value? You calculate expected value by multiplying each possible outcome value by its probability of occurring, then adding all of these products together. The resulting number…Read the topic
- Why does the ratio between sides depend only on the angle? The ratio between sides in a right triangle depends entirely on the acute angle because fixing that angle locks all three angles to add up to 180 degrees. By Angle-Angle…Read the topic
- What are sine, cosine and tangent?Sine, cosine, and tangent are trigonometric ratios that relate the angles of a right triangle to its side lengths. For any acute angle, sine is the opposite side divided…Read the topic
- How do you find a side length when the angle is known? To calculate a side length when an angle is known, choose the trigonometric ratio connecting your known side and desired side: sine for opposite and hypotenuse, cosine…Read the topic
- How do you find an angle when two sides are known? To find an angle when two sides are known, divide the two side lengths to find their ratio, determine whether that ratio is sine, cosine, or tangent relative to the…Read the topic
- What are the special angles in trigonometry? The special angles in trigonometry are 30°, 45°, and 60°. Their exact sine, cosine, and tangent values derive from an isosceles right triangle and an equilateral triangle…Read the topic
- What is the difference between an angle of elevation and an angle of depression? Both angles are measured from a flat horizontal line of sight. An angle of elevation is formed when looking upward toward an object, while an angle of depression is…Read the topic
- How to use trigonometry in an isosceles triangle? You can apply trigonometry to an isosceles triangle by dropping an altitude from the apex to the base. This altitude splits the shape into two congruent right triangles,…Read the topic
- How to solve trigonometry word problems?Tackle trigonometry word problems by sketching the scenario as a right triangle and labeling the known sides and angles. Identify whether you need sine, cosine, or…Read the topic
- How to find the distance between two points? You find the distance between two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2) by applying the distance formula: d = sqrt((x2 - x1)^2 + (y2 - y1)^2). First, subtract the x-coordinates…Read the topic
- How do you find the equation of a line from a point and a slope?Use point-slope form: y - y1 = m(x - x1), where m is the slope and (x1, y1) are the coordinates of the known point. Substitute the values of m, x1, and y1 into the…Read the topic
- How to find parallel and perpendicular slopes? To find parallel and perpendicular slopes, first write the given line in slope-intercept form, y = mx + b, to identify its slope, m. Parallel lines have identical slopes,…Read the topic

About Mathematics
Math here follows the Israeli school years, one step at a time. Young children count to five on their fingers, find one more and one less, and name circles, squares and triangles. In grades 1 to 6 they work with numbers to 20 and to 100, multiplication and division, fractions, decimals and percentages, and the area and perimeter of a shape.
From grade 7, letters join the numbers. Students solve linear equations, then quadratic equations, and meet the Pythagorean theorem and trigonometry in the right triangle. High school brings probability, derivatives, and the bagrut courses at three, four and five units. For first-year university there are single-variable calculus, linear algebra, and statistics and inference.
Every topic is a live lesson with Lessi, an AI teacher. Lessi explains on a board, out loud, stops for short quizzes, and moves at the student's pace. When a homework question gets stuck, Ask Lessi can answer it. The first 60 minutes are free with an account, and the topic pages have free printable worksheets.
Common questions
What ages is the math here for?
From age 3 to university. The early years start with counting and shapes for ages 3 to 5. Then every school year from grade 1 to grade 12 has its own topics, from numbers to 20 up to the bagrut courses. First-year university students will find calculus, linear algebra, and statistics and inference.
Can my child learn algebra online with Lessi?
Yes. Algebra starts in grade 7 with turning words into expressions and solving linear equations with the balance principle. In grade 9 it moves on to factoring, the quadratic formula and the parabola. Lessi teaches each step live, on a board and out loud, and checks understanding with short quizzes before going on.
Are there free math worksheets?
Yes. Each math topic page has free printable worksheets, so a child can practice on paper away from the screen. They follow the same topics as the lessons, from counting and times tables to fractions, equations and trigonometry.
Does it help with the math bagrut?
There are courses for the math bagrut at three and four units in grade 11 and at five units in grade 12. They cover topics such as sequences, the sine and cosine rules, investigating a function through its derivative, trigonometric equations and the natural logarithm. Lessi works through them with the student, at the student's pace.
How much does it cost to try?
The first 60 minutes of lessons with Lessi are free with an account. Ask Lessi answers math questions free with an account too, from the same free minutes. The printable worksheets on the topic pages are free.
