About Jewish History
The grade 7 course tells a thousand years of Jewish life through the communities themselves: how a kehilla governed its own affairs, and how life worked under Islam and under Christian rule. Land of Israel Studies reads the country as an archaeological landscape, from excavating a tell to who lived here in each period. The Chain of Transmission follows how the Torah was handed on, from Avot through the geonim and rishonim to the yeshivot of Europe and their rebuilding after the war.
Zionism and the Founding of the State follows one answer to the position of Jews in modern Europe as it became a national movement and a state. Lessi checks each step with a short quiz, at the student's pace, and the first 60 minutes with Lessi are free with an account.
