Historiography and Research Methods

Historiography and research methods here is about how history is written, in two topics. History: Sources and Historiography, for grade 11 at the advanced level, looks at where evidence comes from and why two honest historians can disagree. Research Methods and Sources, for the first year of university, asks what a claim about the past must rest on. Lessi, an AI teacher, teaches both live.

About Historiography and Research Methods

Before history reaches a textbook, someone kept the evidence, someone wrote it down, and someone left gaps. The grade 11 course follows that path through archives, objects and testimony, and the line between primary and secondary sources. The university course asks for a question that can actually be answered, sources read against themselves, and a footnote a reader can follow. Lessi explains each step on a board and out loud, with short quizzes, at the student's pace. The first 60 minutes with Lessi are free with an account.
