Geometry and Measurement
Geometry and measurement here covers four topics: shapes, sizes and patterns for the early years (ages 3 to 5), measurement, area and perimeter in grade 5, the Pythagorean theorem in grade 8, and trigonometry in the right triangle in grade 10. Each is taught as a live lesson with Lessi, an AI teacher, at the student's own pace.

- How to find amplitude and period? For an equation like y = a sin(bx) or y = a cos(bx), find the amplitude by taking the absolute value of a, |a|, and the period in radians by dividing 2π by |b| (or 360°…Read the topic
- How to solve basic trigonometric equations? You solve a basic trigonometric equation like sin x = a by first verifying that a falls between -1 and 1. Next, find the principal reference angle using an inverse…Read the topic
- How to find the area of a triangle using sine?To find the area of a triangle, multiply half the product of two side lengths by the sine of their included angle. The formula is Area = 1/2 * a * b * sin(C), where a and…Read the topic
- How do you add two vectors? You add two vectors geometrically by placing the tail of the second at the head of the first, drawing the resultant vector from the initial tail to the final head.…Read the topic
- How to write a vector as a linear combination? You can write any vector as a linear combination of two non-parallel vectors by setting the target vector equal to a sum of scalar multiples: w = c₁u + c₂v. Then separate…Read the topic
- How do you find the angle between two vectors? To find the angle between two vectors, divide their dot product by the product of their magnitudes, then take the inverse cosine of that value. The formula is cos(θ) = (u…Read the topic
- How do you prove diagonals of a parallelogram bisect each other using vectors? To prove the diagonals bisect each other, set two adjacent sides as base vectors u and v. Express the intersection point P along diagonal AC as s(u + v) and along…Read the topic
- How to find the length of a 3D vector? To determine the length of a 3D vector v = (x, y, z), square each component, add the three squares together, and take the square root of the sum. The formula is |v| =…Read the topic
- How do you find the vector equation of a line in three dimensions? To find the vector equation of a line in three dimensions, identify a known point on the line with position vector a and a direction vector d. Write the equation as r = a…Read the topic

About Geometry and Measurement
The line starts with circles, squares and triangles, corners and sides, and patterns that repeat like a song. In grade 5 it turns to measuring: choosing a unit, the perimeter around a shape, area and then volume. In grade 8 the Pythagorean theorem goes from square roots to the distance between two points on the coordinate plane. In grade 10, sine, cosine and tangent are built from similar triangles and used to reach heights that cannot be measured directly.
Lessi explains each step on a board and out loud, then checks it with a short quiz before moving on, so a gap shows up while it is still small. The first 60 minutes with Lessi are free with an account, which is enough to try a whole lesson first.
